Summer Intern Spotlight: Arthur Adams
In the final installment of our Summer Intern Spotlight Series, we meet Arthur Adams, Data Engineering Intern. Arthur, who goes by T.J. for short, just wrapped up his internship in mid-August.
T.J. is from the town of Hahira in south Georgia. He started school at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College in Valdosta where he earned an associate of applied science in industrial electronics. He then transferred to Valdosta State University, where he is currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Geosciences.
One of his professors, Dr. Paul Vincent, knew T.J. needed some professional experience to add to his resume and directed him toward the internship opportunities with McLean.
“The major tasks while working in the internship have included Q-GIS data related tasks and evaluating inspection records for grid infrastructure maintenance and updates,” T.J. described. “The GIS experience was a vital and integral part of this internship.”
He feel he has gained valuable employability experience overall as well. “I believe that the skills I have learned here can be used in the continuation of my professional endeavors, particularly in the areas of time management and being more analytical.”
As he wrapped up his time with McLean, T.J. had great things to say about his summer employer. “I have really enjoyed the hospitality of McLean Engineering because they have been welcoming and very clear on what they want to see in an intern,” he explained. “McLean Engineering is a great company, and I would recommend working here as an intern or employee to anyone.”
