Regulatory Alert: FCC Ready to Authorize Additional RDOF Funds
On October 7th, the FCC released another list of winning bids in the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) Phase I Auction. This list represents a total of nearly $164 million in funding to 42 providers to bring fiber-to-the-home gigabit broadband to approximately 65,000 locations in 21 states.
This latest list is in addition to the over $311 million in RDOF grants across 36 states that were released in August and an additional 466 winning bids announced in September. The total amount of authorized funds announced so far still represents a small percentage of the overall $9.2 billion total value of the RDOF Phase I Auction.
